Dr. Nichols is a licensed psychologist in the state of Washington (License #1250). She earned a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Western Seminary, Portland, Oregon. She has been in private practice since 1984.
Over the years, Dr. Nichols has had the privilege of seeing many patients make lasting changes in the healing process. She believes that the goal of therapy is to help her patients find their sense of worth and value by developing self-respect and self-esteem. She utilizes both psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral approaches understanding that a person's past affects his/her feelings about him/herself and others. Different experiences shape how each person operates in relationships and how feelings, wants and needs are expressed. Therapy offers the opportunity to learn new more effective communication and coping strategies.
